Tinnitus conferences

European Tinnitus Course (ETC)
The ETC is a three-day course hosted by the British Tinnitus Association and taught by UK faculty with both clinical and research experience. The course provides an overview of various aspects of tinnitus and hyperacusis, including -
Basic science, definitions and clinical assessment
Mainstream treatments
Special populations and other treatment modalities
Research perspectives

Dr. Rich Tyler coordinates the Management of the Tinnitus Patient Course, held annually in Iowa City, Iowa. The course provides an overview of various aspects of tinnitus and tinnitus care, including mechanisms of tinnitus and hyperacusis and clinical management strategies. Program content and faculty vary from year to year. Patients are also welcome to attend.
Progressive Tinnitus Management, or PTM, is a stepped care approach to tinnitus management. Training courses for PTM are available as online modules through the US Department of Veterans Affairs.

Tinnitus Retraining Therapy
Tinnitus Retraining Therapy, or TRT, is a treatment approach based on the neurophysiological model of tinnitus and hyperacusis. The course covers the theoretical bases of TRT and techniques for clinical implementation of a habituation-based approach to tinnitus and hyperacusis management. Info: www.tinnitus-pjj.com
